What to expect
My aim is to work collaboratively to find the solutions that work for you, so that ultimately you can become your own therapist by applying new skills and techniques to old patterns of thinking and behaving.
Our first session is an opportunity for us to discuss your problems, goals and to get to know each other in a safe and supportive space. We will discuss contracting together which will include confidentiality, boundaries, payment and cancellation. This initial assessment session helps us to identify the problem areas and any relevant history and background information. We will discuss expectations for therapy and decide if we would like to work together going forward. We would then agree to a certain number of sessions and arrange them going forward.
I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist based in the Glasgow area. I work predominantly within a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approach, but also draw on perspectives from other therapies giving me a more holistic approach to my practice.
I work in accordance with the Ethical Framework of The British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and have regular clinical supervision.
