    How I can help you

    Hi and welcome. My name is Karen.

    I'm guessing if you have stumbled across this page then you are looking to change something. There is something in your life that isn't working and you want things to be different. Well I am here to let you know that things can change! One of the things I love about counselling is seeing people progress forward from pain or difficult situations and get on and do the things they want or need to do. I particularly like working with people in relation to releasing emotional pain, and old limiting beliefs that can often come from childhood (in fact they nearly always do!). This can create immense change for people. 

    I am passionate about helping you to work through anything that is holding you back so you can be the best you can be and lead a happier life. 

    I use a range of counselling and emotional release techniques including Mindfulness,  Acceptance and Commitment therapy, art therapy, and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) in providing an approach that is very effective in getting to the core underlying issues of what is going on for you.  

    EFT, or 'tapping' as it is commonly known, is a relatively new but very effective technique that uses gentle tapping on specific acupressure points while focusing on or talking about the issue. Tapping is great because it helps to calm anxiety very quickly so you can think more clearly and respond to stressful issues or memories in a healthier way.  People report at the end of the sessions they feel relaxed, energised or feel like a weight has been lifted from them.

    What to expect

    The counselling session provides you with a confidential safe space to discuss whatever areas of your life you feel aren't going as well as you would like.  As well as counselling I also provide emotional release techniques to help support you to gently release painful emotions, feelings and limiting beliefs so you can feel better, happier and gain greater clarity about your life and direction.


    About me

    I have worked in various hospitals and community settings with people experiencing a wide variety of health conditions and disabilities.  

    I have completed additional studies in relation to grief, loss and trauma counselling.

    My goal is helping you to become the best you can be by working through and releasing what is no longer working for you in your life.
