    Hi and welcome to my profile page.

    Are you experiencing painful feelings that just wont go away no matter what you try? Do you feel like you are stuck or cant move forward in your situation? Do you suffer chronic pain, Depression, fears or phobias, addictions, chronic stress and anxiety or are you experiencing grief in relation to a loss or life changes? 

    I am a fully qualified Social Worker with over twenty years experience in the health and disability fields. I am passionate about helping you to work through anything that is holding you back so you can be the best you can be. 

    While i use a number of techniques, my preferred approach is Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) which uses gentle tapping on specific acupressure (meridian) points on the face and collarbone while focusing on or talking about the issue. Tapping assists in calming anxiety very quickly. It works on the part of the brain (Amygdala) that regulates your response to stress. With your body in a more relaxed state you are then able to more easily think about, process and respond to stressful issues or memories.  EFT is a very gentle technique and people often report at the end of the sessions they feel relaxed, energised or feel like a weight has been lifted from them. The process is very easy to learn in just a few minutes, and I tap along with you throughout the session.

    What to expect

    The counselling session provides you with a confidential space to discuss areas of your life you feel are not working or that you would like to improve so you can move forward and get on with living the life you want to live. 

    I use EFT (tapping) together with a range of more traditional techniques in providing a mind-body approach that is effective in relation to a wide range of issues. The approach that I use can also be easily adapted to situations where you do not want to specifically talk about the issue, or when you do not know when the issue originally started. I also offer an approach that combines art based therapy and tapping. 

    About me

    I have worked in both hospitals and the community with people experiencing a wide variety of health conditions and disabilities.  

    I have completed additional studies in relation to grief, loss and trauma counselling.

    My passion is helping you to become the best you can be by working through and releasing what is no longer working for you in your life.
