How I can help you
I offer a professional, caring and discreet counselling service from a centre in the heart of Holmes Chapel. Having qualified in 2001 I have supported people through a diverse range of mental plus emotional issues; with so much experience behind me I find my clients naturally draw out of me what they need for their healing and growth.
What to expect
Our first session is generally an opportunity for clients to tell me what has brought them to counselling, future sessions are an opportunity to look further into what is troubling you. I will pick up on anything that needs clarifying, I will not judge but may gently challenge where appropriate and I will give verbal and/or written information if deemed helpful. Sessions are for 50 minutes each.
I qualified in Person-Centred Counselling through The University of Salford in 2001 and became BACP Accredited in 2004; as a requirement of our governing body I have completed a vast range of bolt-on therapeutic courses over the years. I gained most of my experience through counselling at Mind for ten years. At the same time I started to build my independent practice, clients come to me through self-referral, EAPs, Occupational Health Departments and Insurance Companies. I have also occasionally worked as a locum for the NHS IAPT service on their Waiting List Initiatives. My background before becoming a counsellor was with Social Services Children Services.
