How I can help you
After payment for a counselling session an appointment will be arranged with you. At the appointed time we will either meet in ‘real time’ using the 'Plus Guidance' secure IM service or this will be the time when you receive a reply to your first email. Throughout the counselling process I would need to receive each of your emails 48 hours prior to the agreed appointment time. This will give me time to read and process it before sending your reply. We would agree to meet on a weekly basis.
Many thanks, Stephen.
What to expect
As a Person-Centred Counsellor my aim is to provide the psychological space where you can explore any issue you need to bring to counselling. My aim is to always offer a supportive, respectful, accepting and non-judgemental environment. I will never give advice. Rather through the counselling process it is hoped you will feel empowered to make positive changes that will promote personal growth.
Many thanks, Stephen.
I qualified as a Person-Centred Counsellor in 2005. Clients can book counselling sessions for either, asynchronous email or Instant Messaging, (IM) Skype. I am a Registered Member of BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and of ACTO (The Association for Counselling and Therapy Online).
I have 12 years of counselling experience working for voluntary organisations including Cruse Bereavement Care and OCD Action. My work with Cruse included seeing client's face-to-face at a GP surgery/private room, at their home or on the telephone. At OCD Action my work has included answering telephone calls on the National Helpline, supporting those who have OCD or who are caring for someone with OCD
I have completed (The OCST 1 - Online Counselling Skills Certificate - with distinction) and am a member of ACTO.
Many thanks for taking the time to read my profile, It is much appreciated, Stephen.
