How I can help you
As we are all from different walks of life, we therefore, have our own set of personal and unique challenges. My Integrative approach can be tailored to fit around your personal needs/ style and preference and not the other way around.
Whether you are experiencing emotional, mental or physical pain, struggling with family or relationship issues, going through life transitions or have experienced various degrees of trauma such as; neglect or abandonment, harmful relationships, loss of; a loved one, social support or career that resulted in changes in personality/identity, day to day functioning, well-being or interpersonal relationships, I am open to support you through these difficult times.
Depending on what you bring to our sessions, counselling can help:
I am fully trained, registered and accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and received a Specialist Certificate to work therapeutically online to support you through which ever communication method that you feel suits your personal life style and preference.
What to expect
Once we have made contact and you wish to engage in counselling sessions with me, we will enter an initial session to explore further what is going on for you and how best to approach your concerns, this will also give you the opportunity to decide whether we can work together and whether counselling can benefit you. There is no obligation to continue and you are free to book as many or little sessions that you feel is needed.
As no one size fits all, I will respect your experiences as unique to yourself, I will not judge or have a pre-fixed agenda and will be supportive and actively engage with you throughout. Depending on what you want out of our time together, I may draw upon specific styles that best suit your situation, and the area that you feel needs attention. Theoretical approaches that may be used are: CBT, Person Centred, Gestalt, TA, Psychodynamic, Mindfulness and sensorimotor techniques, my integrative approach is not limited to these theories.
I am a Registered and Accredited with the BACP and have 19 years experience working and training as an integrative counsellor/psychotherapist. I am passionate about working with people from all walks of life and a great believer that if we are provided with the appropriate level of support, resources and environment, we can discover our potential and aspects of ourselves that can help towards our healing, recovery and journey through life.
I currently work in private practice with individuals; face2face and received a specialist certificate to work online and via the phone with individuals. I also run support groups for parents struggling with their mental health, as well as wellbeing workshops and psycho-educational trauma programmes within the statutory sector.
My main area of expertise are issues around relationships, anxiety, depression, self esteem, identity, anger & trauma. I use specific styles to fit around your personal situation and am open to work with you short term on specific issues or long term if you are looking for more in-depth therapy.
Whether you are having family or relationship troubles, feel like you have lost your sense of self or direction in life, feeling low, disheartened or overwhelmed with worries, speaking with someone in an unbiased and confidential space can help ease some of the discomfort you may be feeling and provide you with a private and supportive space where you can touch base and explore safely what is going on for you,
Throughout my professional journey I have been fortunate enough to have worked with a wide range of issues with individuals from all walks of life, diverse cultural, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds which has furthered my appreciation of each persons unique qualities and experiences.
My training also extends to online counselling which I have received a specialist certificate and the certification to work with individuals through the cyber world and offer various communication methods to fit around your personal preference and lifestyle.
Meeting a counsellor face to face may not suit everyone's personal preference or lifestyle, Online counselling can provide individuals the opportunity to choose how they would like to access their therapeutic support that is, within reach and offers flexibility other than normal working hours. It can be tailored to work with each persons level of comfort and preference with the use of various communication methods, such as; some people may feel at ease speaking in voice chat without visual contact, whilst others may feel they better express themselves through creative writing (IM, E-therapy) Video sessions may be comforting to those that would wish to have visual and auditory communication whilst remaining in the privacy and comfort of their own home.
If you have any questions or would like to know more about online counselling or the way in which I work, just send me a message, I will aim to respond within 24 hours.
All sessions are private and confidential
