How I can help you
Counselling and psychotherapy provides a safe and confidential space which enables you to explore past and present issues or areas of your life which you would like to change. This could be in relation to immediate difficulties you are experiencing, such as a bereavement, relationship or family issues, stress or employment problems, symptoms of anxiety or depression or other mental health difficulties or may relate to longer standing issues, including those arising from childhood.
As a Therapeutic Counsellor and Integrative Psychotherapist I am able to draw on a number of different therapeutic approaches which then enables me to work with your individual needs and style. I provide a professional and confidential service to listen, support and work with you in understanding how past experiences or current difficulties may be affecting your life and provide you with effective treatment within a warm relationship in which you can heal and grow - I am passionate about helping clients work through their difficulties and improve how they are feeling.
I practise from 2 locations, in Wallsend and Jesmond/Sandyford in centrally located, comfortable surroundings, the latter within easy walking distance of the city centre and both universities and popular student areas, with easy access to car parking and public transport. I aim to be as flexible as possible in arranging appointments, taking into account your work, study, family and other commitments. Alternatively I offer online video or telephone sessions at a time to suit you.
"I'm not sure how to put into words the enormous impact working with Jeannie has had on my life. From the very first session I knew that I could trust her and felt safe and she enabled me to find my voice, to acknowledge my fears and to see that I had choices. Jeannie has guided me and helped me to be more at peace - something that I never thought I would be, she encouraged me to find myself again.
Jeannie is an incredible counsellor and psychotherapist, the work she does is without doubt, life changing - I wouldn't be where I am today and moving forward into a more positive future, feeling safe and confident, without her. Saying thank you to her for all that she has done seems inadequate".
