How I can help you
I offer both online, equine and in-person counselling at my private practice based just outside London in the picturesque Berkshire countryside. As I work very close to my home I am flexible in my hours so if there's not a slot available on the day or time that suits please feel free to contact me and we'll see if we can find something that can work for both schedules.
I am also a Clinical Supervisor and offer in-person or online supervision.
What to expect
Therapy itself can be carried out in a number of different ways, nevertheless the intent is the same - to bring about a process of confronting issues resulting in a positive change. Typically approaches are used either exclusively or part of an integrative approach that suits the individual needs of you - the client.
I am a qualified LEAP Senior Equine Facilitated Practitioner (EFP) and offer psychotherapy as well as equine facilitated learning (EFL) to a variety of ages and groups. School holiday workshops are offered to school age children as well as specific days for trauma, leadership, self-awareness and confidence for all ages. EFP is becoming more and more recognised as an effective way to receive therapy or counselling, with many articles and youtube videos being made of its success with individuals, both here in the UK and around the world. Part of my work in Dallas, TX at an adolescent rehabilitation centre and in Singapore working with at-risk youth was providing EAP and EAL. If you would like to know more please visit my website on www.beat-uk.com.
I am constantly attending continuing education to keep me current as well as adhering to my membership associations and their code of ethics. I am a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the British Psychological Society (BPS), and the Association of Family Therapists (AFT) here in the UK. I have received both individual and family therapy in the past and found that the relationship between you and the therapist is paramount in achieving your goals. It is not for the therapist to tell you what to do but rather for the therapist to help you find the answer for yourself.
