How I can help you
I am a Humanistic Counsellor who used Person Centred and Gestalt approaches. I use these approaches within a therapeutic alliance to help my clients with an array of issues, such as anxiety and depression, harassment and bullying, and bereavement, work related issues, change and loss, and mental health issues.
I believe that my clients hold the key to their own wellbeing. In therapy, we try to find the lock and open the door to explore the issues my clients wish to work with.
What to expect
Our first session will be based around forming a working contract and discussing the areas we will be working with. Together we will then decide a plan for therapy sessions, most usually on a weekly basis for a set period of time. As a Person Centred Counsellor, clients are at the core of my approach - I firmly believe that you are the expert on you! I use Gestalt approach as a tool for creating awareness and exploration at a deeper level.
After qualifying at Sunderland University I have worked for local services providing counselling for people in distress. Before this I worked in the finance industry and I am also a qualified Reiki Therapist. I have a strong interest in Ecotherapy and Holistic approaches to wellbeing. I am BACP Registered and hold current insurance and DBS checks.
