Hello, and thank you for visiting my page.
I firmly believe that everyone has the inner power to both improve their lives and learn how to better take care of themselves.
As the great, and wise, Colombian novelist Gabriel Garcia Marquez once said:
“Human begins are not born once and for all on the day their mothers give birth to them, but that life obliges them over and over again to give birth to themselves.”
This is essentially what therapy and psychological support are all about: building new connections between our minds and bodies that lead us to experience deeper and richer lives, as if we were going through a sort of rebirth.
My main area of specialism is that of eating disorders, and all the issues associated with them. These include anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive symptomatology. On the positive side, my work also includes promoting healthy life-style choices.
It is hard to imagine a biological function more fundamental than eating. Not only does the act of eating mediate between nature and culture, but our approach toward food expresses profound psychological, familial and social beliefs.
When tackling an eating disorder, or disordered eating, it is important to take into account psychological, physical and nutritional factors. This is the reason I usually adopt a holistic and person-focused approach.
Through the course of my career I have been helping many young and adult people not only to overcome their difficulties, but also to achieve their optimal health level, something which begins with simple, everyday decision-making.
In my practice I offer a range of psychological interventions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Remediation Therapy, Motivational Enhancement Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy.
However, the most important thing for you to know is that my approach is integrative and tailored to your needs, and that I also provide therapy both in English and in Italian.
I would like to invite you to visit my website www.luciagiombini.com
Here you can find all the information you need to know about my professional background and interests. In my blog I also suggest therapeutic tools and recommend books that you might find helpful.
Please contact me if you feel I may be able to help, and together we can determine whether I can provide you with the support you need.
Thank you for your kind attention.
