How I can help you
MINDFUL COUNSELLING - I am a Breathworks Mindfulness teacher accredited to teach Mindfulness for Stress and Mindfulness for Health. I am a qualified Counsellor and an accredited Bereavement Counsellor. I work one to one, with couples and in groups, bringing Mindfulness tools to people suffering with chronic pain and injury, stress, anxiety, depression and communication difficulties.
What to expect
MINDFUL COUNSELLING uses a combination of approaches drawn from traditional Counselling and Therapy, with an introduction to various Mindfulness and Meditation tools designed to provide the support needed to explore your situation. I work in a very creative, practical and imaginative way with my Clients; we work hard to create a safe and relaxed but challenging space, where we can share our work together.
I am 67 years old and have spent the past 35 years living and working in Bristol, UK.
I began work as a qualified Counsellor in 1992 and have run a successful, private practice for 24 years with over 10,000 hrs behind me.
During this time I became a practicing, ordained Buddhist, teaching Meditation and Mindfulness in public classes and many retreats for the Bristol Buddhist Centre in Bristol, UK and elsewhere.
As I became more interested and involved as a Buddhist teaching Meditation and Mindfulness I found that once a sound working Counselling relationship had been established, then it was possible to incorporate these practices into my Counselling work when clients wanted to explore the more spiritual aspects of our work. I am also an accredited Cruise Bereavement Counsellor and my studies and experience working with the bereaved also informed a lot of my Counselling work.
My experience was that Mindfulness and Meditation could be successfully used beside usual Counselling approaches to address many of the issues encountered when counselling clients.
I then made a decision to formally become a Mindfulness teacher. After training, I qualified as a Breathworks Mindfulness accredited teacher for Mindfulness for Stress and Mindfulness for Health and have been seeing people one to one,, in couples, in groups and online for Mindful Counselling
