How I can help you
With a focus on children, parents and extended families, I aim to help you access your natural capacity to engage in meaninginful, mindful and respectful relationships with children. With 25 years of experience and a masters degree in education, I have supported those from kindergarten to high school, special-needs to achievers, in Canada and abroad. One universally shared theme is that families, kids and support workers deal with complex and extensive personal, educational and relationship issues that have very real consequences if unresolved.
What to expect
Offering new skill-sets, techniques, practical strategies, and mindfulness needed to reinforce relationships, I help people step back and truly recognize the unique potential that lies within self and others and there-by the situation. This sort of SHIFT is what makes room for clarity, confidence, positive change; the harmony needed to overcome life's challenges and to succeed.
I am a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor with the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada. I have a Bachelors of Education with a focus on children with special needs and a Masters Degree in Psychology and Education. I have worked with children and their families for over 25 years both in Canada and Overseas. For the last 8 years I have worked as a Learning Consultant/Counsellor with a Distance Learning Program called Self Design Global. This work has offered me the opportunity to work closely with families as they support their children learning from home, navigate the family dynamics they face with diagnosis of special needs. My counselling work has primarily been with children yet, in working with children I have deepened my awareness of how imperative it is to support parents and families and the personal issues raised when they begin the parenting journey.
