How I can help you
My practice methods using Hypnotherapy & NLP focus on the positive outcomes you want.
Each session is individually crafted to suit you.
Most people have experienced hypnosis but may not have realised it.
For example if you have ever sat in a chair anywhere and daydreamed about anything you have experienced hypnotic thought.
“Focused daydreaming” is how some people describe the real sensation of their experience of hypnosis.
Hypnosis in reality does not “look” or “feel” or “behave” like people have sometimes assumed it would.
The way it does behave makes it a tremendously helpful tool that all individuals can make use of.
It is but a simple step to use this common everyday phenomenon as a way to help yourself.
When experienced with a qualified Hypnotherapy Practitioner it is beneficial for many situations.
It is useful whenever people wish to alter how they think about something, how they remember something or wish to alter patterns of behaviour that have become 'second nature'.
People regularly find it useful for weight loss and weight management, stress reduction, confidence boosting, anxiety issues, phobias, depression, sleep issues, sports performance, speech making, pain control, stopping smoking or changing other habits.
In essence if you can think about it Hypnotherapy & NLP can help you with it.
What to expect
Your first session with me is important, as are all the others, but the first one is understandably where you will have the most questions. I wish you to feel comfortable with asking whatever question you wish to. Some of the questions you may have right now may be answered on my website at www.peopleshopesandfears.com
It is from the starting point of your choosing that the successful journey of achieving the outcome that you are looking for will begin. If your current situation is such that you could not define an outcome other than to be not where you are now, then we'll start from there.
Remember, in all sessions with all techniques, the choice is yours.
So in the first session we will discuss your situation and how you wish it to change. During this discussion together we will look at, discuss and decide which of the techniques available are best suited to achieving your aims.
If you wish to gain a free insight into the type of things that I will say to you in the hypnotherapy portion of a session visit www.peopleshopesandfears.com/re-energise-yourself-for-free/ which is a page on my website that offers you the opportunity to listen and/or download a free mp3 for relaxation and re-energising yourself.
In our actual session together I will follow a similar pattern by asking you to sit comfortably, relax and listen to my words, your session will differ however in that it will be tailored exactly to focus on the outcome you want.
Any additional sessions will continue in a similar pattern with a discussion between us before proceeding in a way that is suited to you.
The number of sessions required does vary and most people experience immediate benefits after one session, understandably additional sessions are often necessary to re-enforce the new learning which can only be assessed on a person by person basis.
Sessions are available outside of the currently allocated calendar times please contact me to discuss your requirements.
A free introductory consultation is also available by contacting me to make suitable arrangements.
I have been interested in Complementary Health practices for nearly 30 years and been engaged in some way in care & personal development throughout that time.
My professional qualifications include the Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma (HPD) which is equivalent to a Bachelor level Degree qualification, a Diploma in Clinical & Advanced Hypnosis as recognised by the National Council for Hypnotherapy (UK) and the National Guild of Hypnotists (USA) with additional Practitioner level qualifications in NLP and Human Social Functioning (a form of counselling). I have also nearly 20 years of experience in Health & Social Care settings working with individuals on a one to one basis with accompanying professional qualifications in Practice, Leadership & Management at a level that equates again to a Bachelor level Degree.
I am a registered & accredited practitioner with the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH) and am on the Public Standards Register of the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).
The CNHC was set up with UK government support to protect the public by providing a UK voluntary register of complementary therapists. CNHC's register has been approved as an Accredited Register by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care. This Accredited Voluntary Register (AVR) is recognised by NICE the advisory body for the NHS. If you wish to search for me on that register you will need to use my full registered name of Stephen Higgins.
