    How I can help you

Are you struggling with a problem that feels like it's too much? Are you stuck? Do you want to explore your experiences and make sense of what is happening for you right now?

A counselling relationship is different to other relationships. The focus is solely on you, and I will not offer you advice or compare your experiences to my own. You are the greatest expert on yourself. By being listened to within an empathic, reflective, non-judgemental and genuine relationship you will have the time and space to become more in touch with yourself and to begin to gain insight into and make sense of your situation and your relationships with others.

    What to expect

Choosing to have counselling with me will offer you a therapeutic relationship with a qualified professional. I will listen to you without judgement, support you and encourage you to reflect on your thoughts and feelings. Counselling offers a unique opportunity to discover more about yourself, and within this safe and confidential space find the power within yourself to make changes.

The initial session will give you the chance to get a feel for the way in which I work and to decide whether it suits you – there is no obligation to continue after the first session. It also provides me with a chance to begin to get to know you and what has brought you to counselling. We can explore together what you are expecting from counselling and if I am the right person to support you through this.

In the following sessions, the agenda will be set by you and you can bring whatever you would like to talk about.

Each session lasts for 50 minutes and will usually take place once a week. I have experience working both in long and short term therapy and the number of sessions you will need is up to you and is dependent on your needs. We will keep our work together under regular review.
