How I can help you
Welcome! I’m Sally and I am an Integrative Psychotherapist. This means, I use different theoretical approaches to find the best way of working with you to help you move forward with your life.
There are many different reasons why people choose therapy. It may be that you are dealing with a particularly difficult issue right now, or you may have a more general sense of life not going according to plan. Sometimes people decide to have therapy when they realise that they keep repeating the same patterns of self destructive behaviour and want help to break the cycle.
There are times for all of us when we feel stuck and uncertain. Psychotherapy can help by changing the ways we think, feel and behave. Sometimes, it’s also about accepting what we can’t change.
What to expect
There are a number of options available for working together online:
Video call – In this form, we can see and hear each other and this format is similar to face to face therapy. Your computer will need to have a microphone and webcam for this to work.
Voice call – This is similar to a phone call, but takes place over the internet. We can hear each other, but not see each other.
Instant messaging – This involves a text-based conversation, which is similar to using messenger.
Email – You can send an email outlining the issues you want to work on. This gives you the opportunity to take some time to reflect on what you want to say in advance. I will send an email response within an agreed time-frame. The use of email means you can keep the correspondence and refer back to it, taking time to digest and reflect on the exchange.
As in face to face therapy, sessions of any type last 50 minutes with the exception of email therapy, in which there is a delay between sending the email and receiving a response.
I qualified as a Psychotherapist with Metanoia Institute, and hold a Clinical Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy accredited by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
I am also in the final stages of a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology leading to Chartered Psychologist status with the British Psychological Society (BPS).
I have additional training specific to working online and achieved the Online Counselling Skills Certificate (with distinction).
As a member of the UKCP and BPS, I abide by their codes of ethics and standards of practice and professional development.
I am also a Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner for Sports, having trained with Inside Performance. This gives me additional training specific to working with helping sports people achieve their performance goals.
I have ten years experience as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist, working in private practice in London, as well as youth counselling services, community counselling services and the NHS.
I am not able to provide therapeutic services to clients under the age of 18, or couples at this time.
