    How I can help you

Are you feeling stuck in life ? Tired of going round the same old circles ? Wishing someone would really listen for a change ?

I can offer you a safe, sensitive and supportive space to share your thoughts and feelings.  I will help you begin to make sense of your situation and decide how you can change things for the better.

I will listen and I will be honest and genuine with you about what you express in a way that will help you to achieve your goals.

I will show you unbiased respect and acceptance of the thoughts and feelings that you choose to share with me, without judging you.

    What to expect

    Face-to-Face

I see clients in a private room in an historic listed building with a receptionist and located within easy reach of public transport and free parking.

You can attend for a one-off ‘taster’ session, short-term counselling for up to 6 sessions, or a longer term arrangement, by mutual agreement.

Our first meeting will be an ‘assessment’ session where we can both get a chance to decide if counselling with me might be beneficial for you.

If we agree to go ahead, then before starting we will both sign a counselling agreement (or contract) that confirms the terms of our arrangement, including the no. of sessions, frequency, fees and also addresses any breaks and cancellations.

    Online

I offer a service that includes up to 6 once-weekly email exchanges on the same day each week or a longer term arrangement, e.g. 12 or more once-weekly email exchanges, by mutual agreement.

Alternatively, instant messaging or video ‘live’ sessions at a regular weekly appointment time are another option.

Before we begin, I will ask you to complete an online counselling assessment form to determine if this service could help you.

    About me

I am a BACP Registered Counsellor (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and a member of ACTO (The Association for Counsellors and Therapists Online).

I am committed to ensuring that my counselling work complies with the ethical guidelines of the BACP and ACTO.

I have online and face-to-face counselling experience in healthcare and charity settings, including work specifically with patients in a GP surgery, adult carers, young people and those affected by mental health issues and problem gambling.

I also have experience in human resources, management and legal services in the public and charity sectors, and I am a qualified teacher (PGCE), with schools and FE experience during my training.

I've gained valuable insight from these and other life and work experiences that informs and enhances my counselling.

I’ve helped clients struggling with issues such as bereavement, abuse, stress, depression, anxiety, addiction, relationship and work-related difficulties.
