Hypnotherapy is a complimentary therapy that uses the power of positive suggestion whilst under hypnosis (a heightened state of awareness). Through skilled verbal communication, a hypnotherapist aims to encourage change in your thoughts, perceptions, feelings and behaviour by tapping into the subconscious part of your mind. It’s particularly useful for breaking certain habits, overcoming phobias, dealing with stress, anxiety, eating disorders and addictions. Depending on your issue you may benefit from just one session or may need several to ensure the results last longer. Hypnotherapy can be used for a wide variety of psychological, emotional and physical issues, but it’s important to remember that hypnosis doesn’t work if you don’t want to be hypnotised and definitely shouldn’t be used if you suffer from psychosis, as this could make it worse.
