1. RE-EXPERIENCING THE PAST EVENT

Flashbacks of the past events, usually accompanied by physical symptoms like sweating or a racing heart. Nightmares, panic attacks, frightening thoughts. Reliving the traumatic events over and over again. Distressed when reminded of trauma.

2. AVOIDANCE AND NUMBING

Feeling emotionally numb or detached from others. You may stay away from reminders (places, objects, thoughts, events or feelings) of the past experience, or find it difficult to remember important aspects of the past event.
