How I can help you
You may be feeling stuck in the same old patterns of behaviour, that long standing issues are becoming overwhelming or that you want to find out more about yourself.
I can offer you a safe, confidential and empathic space, where together we can bring about positive change to your life.
Psychotherapy allows you to explore issues and emotions at their core in order to to gain insight, understanding and emotional wellbeing.
Therapy can seem daunting, but taking the first step in contacting a therapist can feel a huge relief.
What to expect
Starting therapy can sometimes feel a bit daunting, so it is important to feel comfortable with your therapist who you will be working with.First meeting
The initial consultation allows us to think together about what is bringing you to therapy and what you may like to gain from it. I will gather some background information from you about your past and present experiences, and you will be free to ask any questions you may have about the therapeutic process.
If you would like to go ahead with starting psychotherapy, then we will set a time and day for you to begin weekly 50 minute sessions. I would recommend committing to at least 6 sessions in order to help you to get to know the therapeutic process, which may help you to decide if this style of therapy is right for you. What happens in a session
Psychotherapy sessions do not have an agenda, just simply bring your self. I offer a safe space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences. I will offer new insights and perspectives that help to provide you with emotional understanding and meaning, as well as allowing you to experience a new way of relating to others.
Anything that we discuss is kept confidential, unless I feel that the your safety, or those around you, are at risk. In these exceptional circumstances I will endeavour to discuss this with you before consulting with other professionals.
If you feel like psychotherapy could be of benefit to you and your wellbeing, or if you have any questions, then please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss or to arrange your initial consultation.
