How I can help you
I will work with you in a non-judgemental, empathic way, offering you a safe space to explore the issues or experiences you bring.
What to expect
I offer a free trial session so we can get to know each other a little and so we can decide whether we could work together. The first session will include you giving me a bit of background into the issues you want to work on. It will also include discussing contracting arrangements e.g. agreeing session type, cancellation policy and explaining the boundaries of our confidentiality agreement.
As a person-centred counsellor I will try to see your life through your lens, so expect me to ask questions, make observations and connections, and to bring to your awareness parts of your story which may be able to be seen from different viewpoints, with the intention of giving you a broader perspective.
All sessions last 50 minutes and the number of sessions will vary depending each individual client. I can work in both short and long-term ways, depending on your needs.
Making the decision to seek counselling is your first courageous step towards change. Whether that change is about making huge, life-changing decisions or about developing better self-awareness and self-acceptance, I can be with you in that process.
I offer my clients a safe space in which to explore their unsafe places. I'm a qualified, registered person-centred counsellor and I believe that working with you in a non-judgemental, empathic, compassionate and genuine way creates the most beneficial environment for you to explore your problems, fears or life's big questions.
I truly believe that the relationship between the counsellor and client is the main factor in clients achieving the outcomes they want from their therapy. I work in an empathic, objective and genuine way. The person-centred approach puts huge importance on the client being at the centre of their therapeutic process. I believe that you are the expert on your own life and that exploring your problems with me in a therapeutic relationship based on trust, authenticity and compassion can help you get to where you need to be at this time in your life.
I am a qualified person-centred counsellor on BACP's Register that has been accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. This is in recognition of my commitment to high standards.
